What it actually is
Between Earth's surface and the ionosphere sits a spherical electromagnetic cavity. Worldwide lightning constantly excites it, producing standing waves — the fundamental near 7.83 Hz, with overtones at 14.3, 20.8 Hz and beyond. Predicted by Winfried Otto Schumann in 1952 and later measured, it is real physics.
It is not a geomagnetic storm
A geomagnetic storm (Kp/Dst) is a large-scale compression of Earth's field by solar wind — its source is the Sun. The Schumann resonance is a standing wave in the Earth–ionosphere cavity — its source is lightning. Strong storms can modulate SR, but they are different phenomena on different monitoring networks (NOAA vs Tomsk / Italian SRNF).
Honest edge: does SR affect your mood?
Human alpha waves (7–12 Hz) overlap the SR fundamental — that is a numerical coincidence, not evidence of coupling. Grade-C mechanistic hypotheses exist (magnetite particles, frequency resonance), but no peer-reviewed study shows everyday SR fluctuations causing 'ascension symptoms' or 'cellular awakening'.
